A recent quote
from the Training and Development Manager of an ASX top 20 company.
"We
have looked at a lot of vendors, course material and delivery
platforms – most of which have not been suited to our specific
needs.
One valuable resource we have identified is Redbean Learning Solutions.
I met Paul McKey, CEO of Redbean, at a conference in Sydney earlier
this year. He gave an excellent presentation on e-learning
and has been one of the few individuals who gives common sense
advice and realises that different organisations require different
approaches.
I am sure that you get inundated with vendors who try to push
product with the promise that they will “solve all your
learning challenges”. The advantage of Redbean is
that they are not a vendor or a software company, but an organisation
which assists you to develop and implement an e-learning strategy
specifically for your organisation."
Recent Redbean Clients
Redbean
provides Learning and Development consulting services across the
government, corporate and education sectors. Our specialty lies
in the selection, design and development of online interactive
learning systems, including courseware and content. The following
list represents a cross section of international clients that
we have successfully worked with to provide high quality learning
solutions. |

QBE
Insurance has offices in over 42 countries with annual
revenues exceeding US$12B. With a rapidly expanding organisation
and the need for greater conistency across its international
operations QBE found it required a new global learning
and performance support system. This task along with the
design of the organisational change programs necessary
for such a large initiative prompted QBE to look for a
fresh and independent approach.
Redbean
spent the better part of 2006 developing an international
learning and development vision and strategy that would
help provide QBE with the responsive global workforce
it required for further expansion. In addition the consulting
process showed that the merging of L&D activities
with performance support would provide greater support
and accountability to the business units through improved
reporting and greater efficiency in the learning process.
Redbean then developed a design for new Learning and Performance
Support Systems that took into account a future organisation
where both new hires and seasoned industry employees could
gain global access to personalised and timely learning.

Apple Computer Australia
has a reseller channel of over 300 stores around Australia.
The staff in these stores need a constant stream of information
and skills relating to the new technologies continually
being developed.
Redbean
delivered an online certification program to Apple reseller
staff in Australia for a period of over eight years through
our online arm - BigTree OnLine.
This
task included all the certification program design; management
of the program and the several thousand registered users
of BigTree; design of a unique Learning Management System;
and design and development of all the courseware utiised
in the three major certification programs.
Paul
McKey, as an ex Apple Training Manager, has also consulted
to various divisions within Apple in both Australia and
the USA on the deployment of online learning, interface
design and certification. |

NextEd Limited
is a Hong Kong based systems integrator engaged in providing
infrastructure to post-secondary education and training
providers, primarily in Asia.
As
a start up company in 1998 they required a Chief Technology
Officer who could design and build a global online education
system. The system had to be fully replicated and redundant
(requiring servers in 6 locations around the world), multi-lingual
and provide unique student administration and management
systems. Paul McKey's knowledge of both the technology and
educational design required allowed him to build the team
which had this world first system operational with over
150 university courses in just over nine months.
The
courseware and academic staff required adaptation to the
new paradigm and NextEd pioneered a number of business,
education and technology initiatives utilised by their university
clients and thousands of students.
NextEd
still enjoys leadership in the provision of multi-lingual
online learning systems to universities around the world
based on the original blueprint.

Brisbane City Council
(BCC) is arguably the largest local government authority
in the world. Their call centre alone has a staff of over
350.
In
February 2003 BCC's Customer Services division embarked
on an ambitious project (and timeline) to be delivering
the majority of their dynamic training requirements online
by July 2003.
Paul
McKey was engaged to work closely with staff to design and
implement a project plan which included installing a new
learning management system; training key staff in its use;
in the art and science of instructional design for online
learning and the development of original courseware; coordinating
the technical and educational requirements of the system;
and leaving BCC with a sustainable and self-sufficient model
for the development of future programs.
The
project was carried out on time and within budget.
